After 30 years EA Sports and FIFA end partnership in video games.
EA and FIFA was facing some issues and arguments in their partnership and unfortunately now they are decide to end the partnership of successful comercial relationship of both companies.
Next year FIFA will be decided to change its name which will be known as the “EA SPORTS FC” franchise.
The current deal between FIFA and EA will end after the World Cup in Qatar and maybe this partnership will be extended for the Women’s World Cup next summer.
After these two events will be ended 150 million FIFA video game players used the new name EA Sports FC.
After EA and FIFA’s partnership ends will not get so many changes in the gameplay of this game.
Most of the famous clubs and star players will be still available as it because of different license deals with franchises.
So we can say that it’s very difficult to rebrand the franchise.
How Much EA Sports and FIFA End Partnership Make Sales Before Separation?
EA Sports and FIFA have generated more than $20 billion in sales in the last 20 years of partnership.
Maybe the main reason behind the EA Sports and FIFA end partnership is FIFA demand double the amount of $150 million which is the annual amount get from EA Sports.
So we can say that both companies have different financial expectations and they both do not agree on a mutual decision and finally they are decided to separate.
But from FIFA’s perspective, FIFA thinks that in EA and FIFA partnership FIFA has some limitations in the digital world.
If FIFA separated from EA Sports then FIFA has more Opportunities for new games and new platforms.
FIFA organization has already agreed to some soccer-based games which will be released before the end of this year.
But it’s too early to say those new games will be rivals of EA Sports games or have different concepts.
EA Sports and FIFA Recent Deal
The most recent EA Sports and FIFA deal was signed 10 years ago.
But after the deal was signed EA Sports and FIFA did not try experiments with the latest technology and these things make difference between both companies.
In the Year 2015, we saw the arguments between both companies after revealing the corruption scandal.
After that scandal, both companies collapsed and FIFA tried to unlock new streams but they failed.
After that, both companies try to direct talk about their issues but they failed and both companies are deciding to separate as mutual ally understand.
After a direct talk, the EA chief executive say ” It was really about how can we do more for the players, more for the fans, how can we bring more partners into the game, how we can expand beyond the bounds of the traditional game.”
But from the sources, we get information that FIFA make demands double their licensing fees, and FIFA also demands to attach the FIFA franchise with other video games and digital products.
So we can say that after EA Sports and FIFA end their partnership FIFA has more opportunities to grow but it’s not easy to replace EA’s game.
